About Dak Achana CBO

Since 2020, Dak Achana [healthy households] has been working with communities, particularly young women and youth at the intersection of economic empowerment, inclusion and mental health.  As a community based organisation (CBO) we catalyze transformational social change by working with, connecting and championing women and youth rights within policy and decision making processes at the grassroots.

We are committed to tackling interconnected problems- from the existential threat of climate change, to persistent and pervasive inequities, to unjust power dynamics and systems and advancing solutions from every angle. With a focus on women, girls and youth, our approach is rooted in the belief that true empowerment requires a holistic strategy that addresses both the environments in which women, girls and youth live and their individual realities and experiences.

We channel our resources towards addressing interconnected challenges that profoundly impact individuals’ lives and environment around them. We take into account factors such as equity, rights, gender, and the affected communities, alongside our capacity to create meaningful change. These issues demand swift and strategic action to tackle root causes and transform the systems that sustain them. Our priorities are flexible, adapting to urgent challenges and new opportunities. We strive to embed equity and voice into every facet of our work.
